Italian regional entities collaborate on forest management and biodiversity research
Regional representatives from Valle d'Aosta and Lombardy have engaged in technical exchanges to improve sustainable forest resource management. A delegation from the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta, led by Regional Assessor Luigi Bertschy, visited the Valtellina and Valcamonica areas to study the wood-energy supply chain. The visit included a session at the UNIMONT hub of the University of Milan to discuss research and training projects dedicated to mountain forestry.
In Basilicata, the Murgia Materana Park has officially joined the FARBAS (Fondazione Ambiente Ricerca Basilicata) as a supporting partner. This collaboration aims to strengthen biodiversity protection, scientific research, and environmental monitoring within the protected area. Park President Giovanni Mianulli stated that the partnership seeks to integrate scientific expertise with territorial management to ensure the effective conservation of local ecosystems.
