Italian regional festivals report high attendance and cultural success

Two regional cultural festivals in Italy have reported significant success in promoting local heritage and community engagement.

The second edition of the Baiano Festival in the Campania region brought together Italian performers and emerging musical talents at Piazza Santo Stefano. Despite adverse weather conditions, the event featured a program of music, theater, and literature, including contributions from Michele Placido and Maurizio de Giovanni. The singer-songwriter Sansone won the competition with the song ‘Dimmi Dimmi Dimmi’, while Aniello Sgamabati received the Carlo Sarno Prize. The festival, supported by the Municipality of Baiano and the Campania Region, aims to use culture as a tool for territorial promotion.

In Sardinia, the fifth edition of ‘Esperienze e suoni d’acqua’, organized by the Baetorra association, drew a record 10,000 visitors over three days at Molentargius park. The festival offered a diverse range of activities, including hot air balloon flights, climbing, urban golf, archaeological workshops, and traditional gastronomy. Marcello Pilia, president of Baetorra, noted that the event's success stems from a growing network of collaborations intended to foster a direct connection between citizens and natural heritage.
