Italian regional funding: Piedmont supports societies while Basilicata faces development proposal

The Piedmont Region has approved a 200,000 euro fund to support Mutual Aid Societies. The resources, split equally between 2026 and 2027, are intended for the maintenance of buildings, upgrading of systems and furnishings, and the restoration of historical flags. Culture Councilor Marina Chiarelli stated that the measure aims to preserve the social history and solidarity traditions of these communities.

In Basilicata, the Democratic Party has proposed a 6 billion euro legislative plan to support internal and mountainous areas. The proposal seeks to improve local transport, road networks, healthcare, and education. Key measures include incentives for businesses, doctors, and teachers to work in these regions, as well as support for municipal hiring. Marco Niccolai, the party's internal areas department head, noted that approximately 90% of Basilicata is classified as an internal area.
