Italian regional running and cycling events highlighted

Recent athletic events in Italy have highlighted regional running and cycling competitions. The ninth edition of Corri Barrea, held in the Abruzzo, Lazio, and Molise National Park, featured a 12-kilometer course with 460 meters of elevation gain. Men's winner Daniele D'Onofrio clocked 47'06.dev, while Chiara Benedetti won the women's category in 1:03:11. Additionally, the Trofeo dei Vigneti in Villamagna saw Sergio Serraiocco win the men's race in 39'47.dev and Claudia Pasquale win the women's race in 51'51.dev.

In Umbria, the ninth Bettona Crossing is scheduled for September 26. The event offers various distances, including a 50 km race, a 20 km race, and a 10 km sprint. The program includes the Crossing Girls project, led by Lisa Borzani, and a non-competitive 8 km Trekking Etrusco to benefit the pediatric department of the Perugia Hospital. The weekend of activities will conclude on September 27 with the Bettona Etruscan MTB mountain bike competition.
