Italian regional traditions: Equestrian races and bonfire festivals

Various cultural and traditional events are scheduled in Italy. In Oristano, the Cavalieri di Oristano per la Sartiglia association is organizing a ‘Corsa all’Anello’ at the Corte Baccas track on October 18. The event will feature international delegations from Spain, Croatia, Greece, and various Italian locations. The competition includes a prize pool of 3,000 euros, and the event also marks the completion of renovations to the Corte Baccas equestrian facility.

In Orsara di Puglia, preparations are underway for the ‘Fucacoste e cocce priatorje’ (bonfires and purgatory heads) tradition on November 1. To manage the expected influx of thousands of visitors, local authorities have issued guidelines. Vehicle access to the town will be restricted after 7:00 PM, and buses or campers are required to arrive by 4:00 PM and book reserved parking in advance.
