Calabria Regional Council Schedules August 5 Session

On 5 August, the Calabria Regional Council will reconvene at Palazzo Campanella. President Salvatore Cirillo convened the assembly to consider the 2026‑2028 budget settlement, proposals on navigation for Calabrian lakes, workplace safety and health measures, a motion concerning regional real‑estate assets managed by Ferrovie della Calabria, and a plan to upgrade the Sibaritide‑Paola railway line.

In the same period, an Italian regional council approved a major update to its regional air‑quality plan (PRQA), allocating more than €43 million. The plan replaces a planned diesel‑vehicle ban with incentives for biocarburants and other structural measures, while the council also adopted the 2026‑2028 budget settlement, directing roughly €57 million of reserved funds to strengthen fiscal balance.
