Italian regions boost public administration training on environmental permits and AI
The Province of Cosenza hosted a practical‑formative seminar on July 7 to improve the management of Single Environmental Authorisations (AUA). The event, organised by Sistema Regionale CalabriaSuap with the provincial environment sector, gathered SUAP operators, municipal technicians and sector professionals. Speakers highlighted the role of the SUAP as the liaison between businesses and authorities and stressed the need for collaborative training, with President Biagio Faragalli noting that “training and cooperation between entities are the key to a more efficient public administration”.
In Bari, a three‑day intensive training on digital transformation concluded with a final session that brought together regional stakeholders. The programme focused on adopting artificial intelligence in public services and featured remarks from President of the Apulia Region Antonio Decaro, assessor Sebastiano Leo and Digital Transition Director Cosimo Elefante. Leo described AI as “an extraordinary opportunity to make public administration more efficient, faster, transparent and closer to citizens”. Both events aim to modernise local administration through shared expertise and updated procedures.
