Italian regions conclude community mental‑health initiatives in Friuli and Piedmont

On 28 July, the Fondazione Friuli in Udine hosted the closing event of the EU‑PROMENS “Community Mental Health for Youth” project. Organized by Consorzio COSM together with the regional health agencies ASUFC, ASFO and ASUGI and funded by the European Union, the final gathering presented a comprehensive report by sociologist Christian Gretter. The programme, which ran across twelve training days and more than 100 hours, involved over 450 participants from health, social, educational and local authority sectors, producing a detailed map of services and recommendations for youth mental‑health support in Friuli‑Venezia Giulia.

On 16 July in Demonte, the “Semi di Cura” shiatsu pathway reached its conclusion. The project, aimed at caregivers of people with neurodegenerative illnesses, was run by the Unione Montana Valle Stura with the cooperatives Emmanuele and Proposta 80 and volunteers from the Scuola Gi‑Shiatsu, led by Gisella Bongiovanni. Through a series of four sessions, participants experienced body‑focused relaxation and relational well‑being, fostering a supportive environment for both caregivers and patients.
