Umbria initiates public debate for new Terni hospital

The Umbria regional government has launched the public participation phase to determine the location of the new Santa Maria di Terni Hospital. Following the presentation of feasibility documents, three potential sites have been identified for debate: Sabbione, Campitello, and the Colle Obito area. The regional administration is appointing coordinators to ensure the public debate is transparent and provides a clear comparison of the construction alternatives.

In a separate regional development, Abruzzo has approved a reorganization of its 118 emergency medical system. The reform aims to optimize resources by increasing the number of ambulances and extending operational hours across various territories. The plan includes adding nursing ambulances and 24-hour medical vehicles in several locations, such as L'Aquila, Avezzano, and Castel di Sangro, to improve service levels.

Additionally, officials in Abruzzo are meeting to discuss the future of the Piomba-Fino Waste Consortium. With the current administration set to expire on December 31, 2026, discussions are focused on establishing new governing bodies and ensuring financial stability and operational continuity for the waste management system.
