Italy and Croatia host various religious and cultural festivals
Various regions across Italy and Croatia are preparing for a series of traditional religious and cultural festivals centered around the Assumption of Mary and various patron saints.
In Milan, the Duomo will host a solemn Pontifical Mass presided over by Archbishop Mario Delpini on August 15. In Croatia, the Sanctuary of Tersatto is expecting thousands of pilgrims for its annual Assumption celebrations, involving a triduum of spiritual preparation.
Numerous Italian towns are hosting local festivities. Giovinazzo is preparing for the feast of Maria SS di Corsignano, while Recco and Viconovo are organizing celebrations for their respective patron saints featuring music, fireworks, and gastronomy. Other local events include the San Rocco festivities in Cellara, Rignano Garganico, Acquapendente, and Busca, as well as the Madonna di Portosalvo celebrations in Marina di Ragusa.
Cultural programs also include the Be Popular theater festival in Vicenza, the 'El Paes de Scuprì' pedestrian day in Barni, and special museum openings in Siena during the Ferragosto period.
