Italian residents report waste management and hygiene failures

Residents in several Italian municipalities are reporting significant failures in local waste management services.

In Bari, specifically in via Gaetano Salvemini within Municipio 2, citizens have denounced unacceptable hygienic conditions. Reports indicate that the roadway is covered in leachate, causing foul odors and daily discomfort due to a lack of street washing. Additionally, waste containers are described as dirty, broken, or difficult to operate, with some missing handles, making it nearly impossible for residents to use them correctly.

In San Giuliano Terme, residents are facing issues with the door-to-door collection service managed by Geofor. Citizens report that waste collection is irregular, leaving bags piled in front of gates and entrances for several days. This has led to accumulations of refuse and increased risks of illegal dumping. Residents have expressed frustration that despite these service failures and numerous complaints to the provider, utility bills continue to arrive with what they describe as exorbitant increases.
