Italian robotics and AI initiatives gain support from government and local community

In Carpi, Italy, the "Work In" project brings together the Rotary Club of Carpi, the non‑profit H.O.P.E. APS, and SIR Robotics Spa to provide professional training for neurodivergent students with strong STEM abilities. The programme offers hands‑on experience in industrial automation, aiming to turn the participants’ talent for handling complex systems into a strategic asset for local Industry 4.0 firms.

Separately, the Italian government, through CDP Venture Capital, has earmarked an additional €1 billion to boost the national artificial‑intelligence sector. Six start‑ups—Generative Bionics, Niulinx, Algorithmiq, Camgraphic, Allsides and Smartness—were highlighted for projects ranging from tactile‑skin humanoid robots and autonomous robotaxi pilots in Brescia to quantum‑computing‑enabled drug discovery platforms. The funding aims to expand Italy’s AI ecosystem, which already totals nearly €2 billion in value.
