Italian Rotary and Lions clubs hold community celebrations and fundraisers

The Rotary Club of Alba marked its 70th anniversary on 11 July with a gala in the historic Cortile della Maddalena, attended by local officials including the Governor of Piedmont, Alberto Cirio. The event raised money to purchase an evacuation cot for a local daycare and featured a commemorative postcard and stamp.

In Ruvo di Puglia, the Lions Club Talos Host organised a charitable burraco tournament on 17 July, drawing 75 participants. Proceeds were donated to Medici Senza Frontiere to support humanitarian medical missions.

Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Castelfranco di Sotto Valdarno Inferiore held its annual hand‑over ceremony, installing new president Matia Luciani. The evening included cultural performances and a raffle whose winnings will fund a refrigerated vehicle for food transport to local solidarity shops.
