Italian sailing federations sign partnership at Genoa Boat Show
The Federazione Italiana Vela (FIV) and the Lega Navale Italiana (LNI) have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding at the Genoa Boat Show. The agreement aims to increase youth engagement in sailing, expand participation for people with disabilities through Para Sailing projects, and develop new training pathways.
To support these initiatives, the LNI will provide access to its nautical bases and its network of 250 sections and delegations across Italy. The partnership also focuses on promoting maritime traditions and environmental respect for marine and inland waters among school-aged children.
The protocol defines specific roles for each organization: the FIV, recognized by CONI, will manage the training, qualification, and certification of federal sailing instructors and technical standards. The LNI will focus on qualifying its members as basic, coastal, and offshore sailing instructors.
