Italian Schools Boost Environmental Education in Messina and Trani
In Messina, the National Association of Natural Science Teachers (ANISN) and the Metropolitan City’s environmental node concluded the “SEMPER 4 – inSiEMe Per la vita sulla tERra” training programme on World Environment Day 2026. The event gathered 400 students who presented research on local ecosystems, received digital microscopes and certificates, and heard remarks from Mayor Federico Basile and municipal officials emphasizing the project’s role in building a resilient community.
In Trani, pupils from the primary school "De Amicis" joined Legambiente volunteers for a beach‑clean‑up, the final activity of the eTwinning project “Silent Guests of Deep Waters”. The students learned about marine litter, practiced citizen‑science, and exchanged experiences with partner schools across Europe, reinforcing language, digital and social‑competence skills while promoting coastal stewardship.
