Italian schools face reopening delays due to safety concerns

In Santa Marinella, the Scuola Centro will not reopen for the September 15 school year because the facility lacks required fire safety certification. Mayor Alessio Manuelli stated that while renovation work funded by the PNRR has progressed, the necessary certification procedures are incomplete. The administration noted that previous management of these projects was superficial, leading to gaps in essential features such as disability access and adequate canteen spaces. The delay also prevents teaching and technical staff from returning to the building by the scheduled date.
