Italian schools launch art competitions for animal and environmental awareness
Various educational initiatives in Italy are promoting environmental and animal welfare awareness through student art competitions.
In Tolentino, the second edition of the “Io rispetto gli animali” (I respect animals) exhibition, organized by LAV, is being hosted at the I. C. Lucatelli-Don Bosco school from October 15 to November 6, 2026. The exhibition serves as a didactic tool to encourage empathy and responsibility toward animals. This initiative coincides with the seventh edition of a drawing competition that has collected over 80,000 entries to date, aiming to recognize the dignity of all species.
Simultaneously, the Municipality of Triuggio has launched the second edition of the “Siate gentili” (Be kind) competition. Aimed at primary school students, the contest focuses on acts of kindness toward the environment, plants, and animals in honor of World Kindness Day. Participants must submit their drawings by November 6, 2026, to be evaluated by a jury including the mayor and representatives from environmental and pedagogical organizations.
