Italian schools launch art projects to promote inclusion and civic engagement
At the Liceo Artistico Walter Gropius, students of class 3 B created pop‑art works inspired by the song “Abbattere le mura,” highlighting women's historical contributions and themes of equality, inclusion and active citizenship. Guided by teacher Annarita Caporusso, the pupils produced a gallery of portraits that blend critical reflection with artistic expression.
In Librino, the Mary Poppins educational institute organized the event “Apriamo le porte alla bellezza,” unveiling a public wall mural inspired by Antonio Presti’s “Porta della Bellezza.” Sponsored by the Catania municipality, the project aims to strengthen young people’s sense of identity, belonging and civic participation, using art as a tool for social regeneration and community cohesion.
