Italian schools receive awards for legality and civic education projects

The Italian State Police concluded the ninth edition of the "PretenDiamo legalità" project in Genoa, involving 2,250 students from 20 schools and 95 classes. The competition awarded video creations on bullying and online risks, with the Institute San Martino Borgoratti winning the national first‑place video prize. The ceremony featured police officials, the police‑rapper "Revman" and other public figures.

In Emilia‑Romagna, the regional legislative assembly granted €296,500 to 126 school initiatives for the 2024‑25 school year. Projects highlighted by the awards include the Alda Costa Institute’s "Cittadini del presente" and the Carducci Institute’s "StraCarducci" walk‑run, both emphasizing memory, rights, legality and environmental stewardship. Regional officials stressed the programs’ role in fostering active citizenship and democratic participation among young people.
