Italian seaside towns awarded 2026 Blue Flag certifications
Fossacesia held a ceremony in which the mayor, Enrico Di Giuseppantonio, and environment assessor Umberto Petrosemolo presented the 2026 Blue Flag flag to 22 beach concessions and to the historic trabocchi Pesce Palombo and Punta Rocciosa, marking the town’s 25th consecutive year of the award.
In Vico Equense, mayor Giuseppe Aiello handed the Blue Flag to local beach operators, emphasizing the community’s role in preserving water quality, environmental sustainability and high‑standard services.
Sapri’s mayor, Antonio Gentile, celebrated the town’s inclusion among 13 Cilento locations that received the Blue Flag for 2026, with remarks from the Cilento‑Vallo di Diano‑Alburni park vice‑president and a marine biologist, highlighting the award’s importance for integrated coastal management.
