Italian Senate launches 'Caffè Corretto' book on legality and anti‑mafia effort

The Senate’s Sala Caduti di Nassiriya hosted a press conference presenting the volume “Caffè Corretto,” promoted by the association La Tazzina della Legalità and curated by Mary Troiano. The event gathered entrepreneurs, administrators, journalists, professionals and direct witnesses of the fight against organized crime. Speakers highlighted the 28 July 2020 arson attack on the historic Caffè Guglielmo in Catanzaro, which spurred the creation of the association and its mission to spread a culture of responsibility, memory and civic engagement. Notable remarks came from Sergio Gaglianese, Mary Troiano, and mayor Donatella Deposito, who stressed a pragmatic, community‑first approach. The story of Marco Sorbara, once wrongly detained and now an advocate for the association, was also recounted as a testament to resilience and trust in justice.
