Italian singer Gigi D'Alessio loses Naples court battle over early album rights

The civil court in Naples rejected Gigi D'Alessio's request to nullify the contracts he signed in the early 1990s with the label Zeus Record for his first six albums released between 1992 and 1998. The judges held that the agreements were valid and represented a transfer of exploitation rights, meaning the label was not obligated to provide periodic accounting unless expressly agreed.

The ruling confirmed Zeus Record's ownership of the rights and ordered D'Alessio to pay roughly €10,000 in legal costs. D'Alessio's lawyer announced plans to appeal the decision, keeping the dispute open.
