Italian singer Tananai rises from Sanremo 2022 last place to prominent songwriter

Tananai, born Alberto Cotta Ramusino in Milan in 1995, finished last at the 2022 Sanremo Festival with the song “Sesso occasionale.” The setback became a springboard: he released two albums, embarked on a European tour and built a solid live band.

Since 2022 he has become a sought‑after composer for other Italian artists, writing for Blanco, Alessandra Amoroso, Fred De Palma and others. His work under the Sugar Music and later Universal Music labels has broadened his reputation beyond his own recordings, while he continues to live and work in Milan.
