Italian Singer Valerio Scanu Says Mediaset Blacklisted Him and Canceled His TV Appearance

Valerio Scanu, known for winning "Finalmente Piove," told host Mauro Mohoric on the podcast "The Man under the Hood" that he is on a Mediaset blacklist. He claims a veto has kept him off the broadcaster’s programmes since a 2016 dispute, noting that a 2022 appearance on the satirical show Le Iene was recorded but never aired after a prank involving Teo Mammucari and Belen Rodriguez. Scanu said the segment featuring him was removed and that he was asked to delete related tweets. He added that in the past decade he has only appeared once on a Mediaset channel, on Barbara d'Urso’s Canale 5 show, after being invited directly without a casting process. The singer maintains he continues to work on Rai and other TV projects despite the alleged veto.
