Italian ski resorts prepare for 2026/2027 winter season
Italian ski resorts are preparing for the 2026/2027 winter season with significant infrastructure updates and seasonal planning.
In Livigno, the ski season is scheduled to begin on November 28, 2026. This will be the first full winter following the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics, which has prompted the renewal of various facilities for skiing, snowboarding, and freestyle. The resort offers approximately 115 kilometers of slopes and plans to implement a ‘Skipass Free’ promotion during two periods of the season.
Meanwhile, the Monterosa Ski area is transitioning from its summer season to winter preparations. Despite a slight decrease in summer visitors compared to 2025 due to scheduled maintenance, the region has utilized the period to conduct essential infrastructure works, including lift revisions and the enhancement of snowmaking systems in Brusson and Gressoney-Saint-Jean. The resort is also focusing on sustainability initiatives and international marketing through the Ikon Pass network.
