Italian solidarity mission to Cuba scheduled for late September

An Italian solidarity mission titled ‘Rotta su Cuba. Dove conta, esserci’ is scheduled to take place from September 23 to 30. The delegation includes 47 representatives from various associations, unions, institutions, and the Italian and European Parliaments.

Promoted by organizations such as ARCI, CGIL, and the National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship, the mission aims to strengthen relations between Italy and Cuba while addressing the island's severe economic and energy crises. The delegation plans to meet with representatives from the United Nations, the Italian Embassy, the European Union, and the Cuban Institute of Friendship among Peoples (ICAP).

Key activities include delivering medical supplies to a clinical-surgical hospital and providing school materials to children. The mission also features the inauguration of solar panel installations at the National Council of Houses of Culture, funded by the ‘Energia per la vita’ campaign, intended to support the country's struggling energy infrastructure.
