Italian Sport Minister Abodi addresses football ownership rules

Italian Sport Minister Andrea Abodi has addressed the issue of multi-ownership in professional football. Speaking in Bari during a study day on sport, rights, and inclusion, Abodi emphasized that a rule established by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) in 2022 must be respected. He stated his hope that by 2028, multi-ownership among professionals will no longer be permitted.

In a separate video address, Abodi called for the sporting community to learn from recent experiences and prioritize the respect of rules over personal interests. He noted that harmony within the football world is essential for implementing reforms and achieving broader sporting goals beyond mere tournament qualifications.
