Italian sports clubs announce new coaching appointments

In Italian regional sports, Pallacanestro Bolzano has appointed Alice Pol as the new head coach for the “Sisters” women's basketball team. Pol has signed an agreement for the 2026/2027 season, with an option for 2027/2028. She will also remain active in the Basket Rosa Bolzano youth sector. Pol, a former player whose career was impacted by injury, previously served as an assistant coach in Mantova and held technical responsibilities at Riva del Garda.

In volleyball, Prisma Taranto Volley has named Mauro Ambriola as the second coach for the men's Serie C team for the 2026/2027 season. Ambriola will work alongside head coach Domenico Salvatore. Ambriola has an extensive background in volleyball, having served as a player, referee, and coach across various youth and senior divisions. His recent work with Prisma Taranto includes leading the team to a final in the Trofeo Young and coaching youth teams.
