Italian sports clubs launch female youth development programs

In Italy, two separate sports organizations have announced collaborations aimed at developing female youth athletics in basketball and volleyball.

Fulgor Basket and Arona Basket have entered a multi-year agreement to build a structured female youth basketball sector. Starting in the 2026/2027 season, the project will initially focus on Under 13 and Under 14 categories under the name ‘Fulgor Femminile Viking Basket Academy’. The partnership intends to pool technical expertise, staff, and facilities to provide a continuous training path for young athletes.

Similarly, Brescia Volley has partnered with Scuola di Pallavolo Brescia to create a progression path for female volleyball players. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between grassroots training and national competitive play, specifically linking youth categories to Brescia Volley’s Serie B2 women’s team. The collaboration focuses on technical progression to ensure young athletes can transition from local training to senior national leagues.
