Italian State Police launch national digital violence prevention campaign
The Italian State Police and Postal Police have launched ‘Una Vita da Social – Action Week,’ an extraordinary national awareness and prevention initiative. This campaign is part of the 14th edition of the ‘Una Vita da Social’ educational program, which was officially initiated in Rome on September 28.
Responding to recent incidents of violence involving minors, the initiative brings specialized officers into schools and youth gathering spaces across Italy. The program aims to engage students in direct dialogue regarding the risks of digital communication and social networks. Key topics include cyberbullying, sextortion, the non-consensual distribution of intimate images or videos, and other forms of online harassment and prevarication.
Officers are also addressing the challenges posed by evolving technology, providing practical guidance on how to use smartphones and digital platforms safely and responsibly. The campaign is intended to continue over the coming months to reach thousands of young people, fostering digital security awareness and promoting responsible online citizenship.
