Italian State Police negotiate FESI fund allowances

Labor unions and the Italian State Police have met to negotiate the definition of the Institutional Services Efficiency Fund (FESI) for 2024 and 2025. A primary focus of the discussions is the establishment of an allowance for personnel engaged in information and investigative activities.

For the 2024 allocation, unions are pushing for the immediate use of available resources. Based on administration data, the current €7.3 million allocation for approximately 16,000 personnel results in a monthly gross allowance of €41. Unions have requested a minimum of this amount, while setting a priority goal of €50 per month.

The 2025 FESI budget is expected to increase to €9.299 million via budget law, with an additional €1.2 million possible from contract renewal funds. Unions have requested these funds also support high-risk sectors, including Scientific Police, Immigration, and sharpshooters. Additionally, they have called for the monitoring of a potential new allowance for on-call interventions starting in 2026.
