Italian students prepare for 2026 maturity exams amid new textbook aid program
On the night of June 17, more than 527,000 Italian high‑school seniors will face the first written test of the state maturity exam, the Italian language exam. The tradition includes sharing last‑minute study sessions, social‑media posts and the song “Notte prima degli esami” by Antonello Venditti, while many students look for lucky charms and humorous captions.
The municipality of Trani announced that families can apply for free or subsidised school textbooks for the 2026/2027 academic year. Eligible applicants must have an ISEE not exceeding €13,000 (or €15,748.78 for families with three or more children). Two application windows are open: 15 June – 15 July 2026 and 8 – 22 September 2026, with submissions made through the regional online portal.
