Italian summer festivals in Sondrio and Monte Saccarello attract thousands

The “Valtellina 100%” food and wine series, part of the Sondrio Estate programme, recorded 48,100 visits over five Thursday evenings in July 2026. Organized by the Union‑Confcommercio Sondrio and Sondrio Shopping, the event showcases regional dishes such as pizzoccheri, sciatt and local cheeses in the historic centre of Sondrio.

On August 2, the 126th Festa del Redentore was celebrated on Monte Saccarello, the highest peak in Liguria. A mass presided over by Bishop Antonio Suetta was followed by a communal aperitif. The gathering, a tradition dating back to 1902, attracted participants from Liguria, Piedmont and neighboring France, reinforcing cross‑border cultural ties.
