Italian Summer Theatre Season Opens in Verona and Rome
In Verona, the historic Castello di Montorio will host the open‑air summer series "Il Teatro è Servito" from 5 July to 22 August 2026. The program features six Saturday (and one Sunday) performances, each starting at 21:30, including the contemporary comedy "Un mistero di troppo" on 25 July, classic Italian and international works such as "Miseria e Nobiltà" and Anton Čechov’s pieces. Tickets cost €12 for adults and €10 for youths and seniors, with free entry for people with recognized disabilities.
Meanwhile, Rome’s Teatro Elsa Morante presents "I cattivi pensieri" on 24 July at 21:00. Directed by Roberto Gandini, the show stems from the Piero Gabrielli Integrated Theatre Lab and explores the inner lives of four adolescents on a night train, addressing the theme of negative thoughts in a socially inclusive format. The production highlights the lab’s 31‑year commitment to inclusive and socially engaged theatre in Italy.
