Italian surgeon sued for 373,000 euro state damage
The Court of Auditors has filed a lawsuit against an aesthetic surgeon for alleged financial damage to the state exceeding 373,000 euros. Following investigations by the Guardia di Finanza in Catania, the surgeon is accused of performing unauthorized private medical services between Catania and Messina during his official working hours.
In addition to working private shifts while on duty, the professional reportedly received an exclusivity allowance while simultaneously practicing privately. Investigators also allege that the surgeon used ‘straw men’ to hide his involvement in certain procedures at a private clinic in Messina, where other doctors were listed on clinical records and invoices instead of him.
