Italian teachers Antonietta Capellupo and Adriano Cecchini die, communities mourn
Antonietta Capellupo, a 64‑year‑old primary‑school teacher from Petronà in Calabria, died after a brief illness at a hospital in Catanzaro. The community praised her dedication and kindness, describing her as a guiding figure for generations of students. Her funeral was held at the Mother Church of Petronà on the afternoon of 5 August.
Adriano Cecchini, an 84‑year‑old teacher, writer and poet from Rimini, passed away on the evening of 4 August. Known locally as “maestro Adri,” he contributed to the city’s cultural life through poetry, theatre and a book on Rimini’s history. He was buried after a service at the San Raffaele Arcangelo parish church, with many recalling his lifelong commitment to education and the arts.
