Italian teachers face travel hurdles due to assignment delays

The National Coordination of Human Rights Teachers is raising concerns regarding delays in interprovincial provisional assignments for educators. As the new school year approaches, many teachers have not yet received their official assignments, leaving them with minimal time to organize travel to their service locations.

These administrative delays are causing significant financial and logistical burdens, particularly for teachers relocating from Southern Italy to distant regions. The coordination noted that many rail options, including Frecciarossa and Intercity services on routes such as Lamezia Terme to Florence, are already fully booked. Additionally, last-minute airfares for routes like Lamezia Terme to Pisa have reached prices between 236 and 350 euros, forcing educators to absorb high costs to ensure they reach their posts on time.
