Italian Teams Gear Up for Mediterranean Games and Paralympic Judo

The Italian weightlifting squad for the Mediterranean Games will compete from 31 August to 2 September in San Giorgio Jonico. The eight selected athletes include Celine Ludovica Delia, Martina Chiacchio, Giulia Miserendino, Genna Romida Toko Kegne, Sergio Massidda, Cristiano Giuseppe Ficco, Lorenzo Tarquini and Simone Karol Abati, with reserves Giulia Imperio and Carlotta Brunelli. The team is overseen by national technical director Sebastiano Corbu and his coaching staff.

From 30 July to 2 August, the Italian paralympic judo squad will train in Telese Terme. The high‑level camp, organized by the A.S.D. Olimpic Center Judo Telese Terme and led by technical director Francesco Faraldo, aims to sharpen athletes ahead of the qualification pathway for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. The event includes a presentation of the judokas on 1 August and features support staff such as Davide Faraldo, Carlo Scognamiglio and Gaspare Mazzei.
