Leonardo Bucci, 19, dies in jet-ski accident on Pag island

Leonardo Bucci, a 19-year-old hairdresser from Montevarchi, Italy, died on Thursday, August 20, while vacationing on the island of Pag, Croatia. His body was recovered from the sea near Novalja after he went missing while riding a rented jet-ski.

Bucci had been vacationing with three friends, but because each person was operating their own rented jet-ski at the time, there were no direct witnesses to the incident. His friends only realized he was missing when it was time to return the equipment. A search operation was launched by the Karlobag Port Authority and MRCC Rijeka, and his body was located in the water at 19:49.

Medical examinations have determined the cause of death to be drowning. While the jet-ski was recovered intact and Bucci was wearing a life jacket, authorities are investigating whether a sudden medical emergency caused him to fall into the water. The community of Montevarchi has expressed deep mourning, and his father has temporarily closed the family hair salon in response to the tragedy.
