Italian theater productions focus on environmental awareness
Various theatrical productions in Italy are utilizing performing arts to address environmental issues and sustainability.
The Menoventi theater company will debut “Oasi” at the Rasidi theater in Ravenna on September 30. Directed by Gianni Farina, the production explores the environmental emergency, a theme inspired by recent severe flooding in the Romagna region. The play aims to fragment the complex concept of the environmental crisis into different perspectives and languages.
In Barletta, the Teatro Fantàsia project “Tende Incantate: storie per il pianeta” is concluding its run. After conducting outdoor educational sessions in city parks to teach children about recycling and waste reduction, the project will move to the theater stage on October 10 and 11 with the production “Sofik e Alek: le origini.” This final performance is designed to engage children aged 3 to 10 in environmental stewardship through play and storytelling.
