Italian theater stages tribute to Antonio Rizzo and satirical opera 'Onora i padri e paga la psicologa

A tribute play titled “Il Padreterno ci darà una mano”, written, adapted and directed by Paolo Rausaal, was performed on 25 September 2026 at the Castello di Andrano by the Compagnia Ora in Scena. The production honored the late actor Antonio Rizzo and featured a cast of local performers, integrating traditional Salento songs and contemporary dialogue.

On 20 July 2026, Paolo Rossi presented the satirical operetta “Onora i padri e paga la psicologa” at Teatro Eden in Viareggio as part of the Fondazione Gaber – il luogo del pensiero. The piece blended confessional theatre, live musical improvisation and a psychologist character to explore memory, identity and social critique, continuing Rossi’s tradition of “operaccia” that mixes low‑brow forms with civil resistance.
