Italian theme parks win major honors at Parksmania Awards 2026

At the 25th annual Parksmania Awards, held on October 9, 2026, several Italian theme parks received top honors. Movieland Park in Lazise was named Park of the Year 2026. The recognition follows a season of significant investment, including the transformation of a historical area into Bugs Town, a themed Far West area featuring giant insects, animatronics, and immersive scenery. The park also continued its summer Sky Parade show, which utilizes music, videomapping, and drones.

MagicLand, located in Valmontone, won the award for Best Outdoor Show for its evening production, Luminous. The show utilizes dancing fountains, water effects, light projections, fire, and music to create an immersive experience in the Baia delle Sirene. MagicLand reported significant growth since 2018, including a 35% increase in visitors and a 75% increase in revenue. The park has announced plans to inaugurate a new wooden roller coaster named DURANGO in 2027.
