Italian towns adopt new tax relief and debt‑forgiveness schemes

The municipal council of Statte approved a revision of the local Tari tax regulation, maintaining existing exemption rates and allowing them to be combined with the new national Bonus Sociale. A 10 % reduction was introduced for households with military personnel stationed at least 200 km away, and the town joined the national “rottamazione‑quinquies” programme to let taxpayers regularise overdue payments under favourable conditions. Mayor Fabio Spada said the measures aim to support families in difficulty and make the tax burden more sustainable.

In Cinisi, the council adopted a new General Revenue Regulation together with a rottamazione scheme that offers citizens and businesses the chance to clear municipal tax arrears by waiving penalties and interest, including debts already transferred to the tax collection agency (ADER). Mayor Vera Abbate highlighted the initiative as an “important result that combines attention to citizens with administrative responsibility,” strengthening the town’s finances while helping residents regularise their positions.
