Italian towns allocate around €9 million to roads, sidewalks and sports upgrades

Messina's municipal government has moved to the operational phase of a €6 million plan to repair and rebuild village roads, with tenders awarded for five work packages. The Province of Como will regenerate two provincial roads (23 and 24) using innovative techniques, investing €1.8 million to lay a 29‑centimetre thick surface and improve durability and environmental performance. In Marigliano, the Metropolitan City of Naples confirmed a €200,000 grant to modernise the Palanapolitano sports centre, targeting a July start to minimise disruption for athletes. Enna’s municipal council has earmarked €130,000 for immediate interventions on public green spaces, road maintenance, school buildings and ordinary upkeep, aiming to enhance urban aesthetics and safety. Reggio Emilia has begun a €300,000 programme to refurbish key pedestrian sidewalks, including works on Viale Risorgimento and Via Curie, with completion planned for early August. All projects are scheduled to start in July or early summer and are intended to boost local mobility, safety and community facilities across the affected Italian municipalities.
