Italian towns allocate millions to upgrade municipal sports fields
The municipality of Santena approved a management agreement for two city sports grounds, committing an annual €15,000 contribution. After an advance payment of €10,000 in February 2026, the council paid the remaining €5,000 for the 2025‑2026 season, supporting the amateur sport association ASD Santena 2014.
In the Sardinian town of Sant'Antioco, the mayor announced a €220,000 municipal investment to refurbish the Via Trilussa sports field. The project, slated to start by the end of July, will replace the playing surface with synthetic turf, renew fences and add infrastructure to serve schools and local football clubs, easing pressure on the municipal stadium and providing modern facilities for youth sport.
