Italian towns approve budget safeguard and new urban planning rules

The municipal council of Monte Porzio Catone approved an early safeguard of the town’s budget balance on 30 June 2026, a month ahead of the statutory deadline. The decision confirms that the 2026‑2028 financial plan remains in full balance, with no changes to active or passive reserves, and notes continued progress in tax collection, including enforcement actions for road code, property and waste taxes.

In a separate meeting, the Rieti city council ratified amendments to the technical implementation rules of its General Urban Plan. The changes clarify zoning for the Vazia artisan area and expand permissible uses in the Zona Annonaria, supporting private investment and the construction of a new city auditorium.

Both measures aim to improve fiscal stability and promote local economic development within their respective municipalities.
