Italian towns bolster Carabinieri volunteer collaborations for public safety

The municipality of Cerea confirmed a three‑year renewal of its partnership with the National Carabinieri Volunteers Association, extending the agreement to 2028. The renewed pact funds up to €5,000 per year for the volunteer group’s activities, which include evening patrols, event security, traffic regulation and monitoring of public spaces, with particular attention to vulnerable residents. Mayor Marco Franzoni highlighted the enhanced evening monitoring as a concrete response to citizens’ needs, while volunteer group president Maurizio Ferrari affirmed the continued free service of the 35 active volunteers.

In Castel Volturno, the National Carabinieri Association sections of Calvizzano and Giugliano, together with the National Educational Sports Center (CSEN) and the Capasso Sports Group, presented a plaque to the volunteer organization Soccorso Napoli‑Sanità ODV. The award recognized the volunteers’ medical assistance during the IV Memorial and other sporting events at the local shooting range, emphasizing the importance of coordinated volunteer efforts to ensure safety for athletes, organizers and spectators.
