Italian towns call for increased police patrols in unsafe neighborhoods

Residents of Novara have sent a letter to the mayor, the municipal security officer and the local police command urging stronger police presence at the public park on Via Landoni. The community says groups of youths have been causing disturbances that make families, seniors and children avoid the area, undermining its social and recreational role.

In Varese, a similar appeal has been made to the mayor concerning the area around the former Esselunga store on Viale Borri. Local inhabitants report frequent incidents involving intoxicated individuals and drug users, especially at night, creating fear among nearby residents and hospital staff. Both neighbourhoods request regular police patrols, especially during evenings and nights, to restore safety and calm.

The letters underscore growing concerns over public order in these Italian towns and ask authorities to intensify monitoring and enforcement to protect community wellbeing.
