Italian towns confront municipal governance disputes

In Villa San Giovanni, local officials have criticised the Caminiti administration for what they describe as a pattern of neglect and poor management in peripheral neighborhoods, citing deteriorating public spaces, water shortages, abandoned schools and unsafe infrastructure.

In the nearby town of Mugnano, the ruling coalition announced it will cease cooperation with the Casa Riformista list, accusing the group of a lack of shared values and political ethics. The split ends a previous electoral alliance and the majority will continue governing alone, emphasizing accountability and public service.

Both incidents highlight tensions within Italian municipal governments over administrative effectiveness, ethical standards and coalition stability.
