Italian towns Cuneo and Potenza grapple with summer event noise complaints

In Cuneo, a resident of Via Roma 42 wrote to the municipal authorities asking that the volume of music at summer events be reduced after 23:00, saying the loud sound prevents rest and affects well‑being. The letter stresses support for the events but requests a balance between nightlife and residents' right to sleep.

In Potenza, merchant Piero Coviello reported that he has moved his summer outdoor events to the city’s Baden Powell park because of difficulties organising them in the historic centre, including fines and conflicts. He urged the city to give both residents peace and businesses the chance to operate, calling for joint rule‑making rather than penalties.
